My son thinks I practice 3 hours a day. That might be closer to the truth. Let’s take a look at it.
- 10 minutes. Practice chord shapes in early AM and before sleep.
- 90 – 120 minutes. Serious practice time using Justin Guitar course, Old Town School of Folk Music Lessons, or Lauren Bateman advice.
- 15 minutes. Reading about guitars.
I think I spend a solid 2 hours a day practicing. My son thinks its closer to 3 hours. I guess the important point is to practice well and to not learn bad habits.
Does blogging count as practice? No, it doesn’t.
But I work on my blog 30-60 minutes a day.
Altogether I spend about 3+ hours working on guitar related tasks every day. Good thing I’m retired.
Special thanks to my wife and son for putting up with music from the basement. I play silently on electric guitar with headphones when my son wants some peace and quiet. During the day, I play acoustic because my wife doesn’t mind.
Again, thanks to my wife and son for allowing me my guitar fascinations.
