3/10/2024, Discontinuing Weekly Guitar Journal

I have decided to discontinue my weekly guitar journal. I think this is a Kaizen (change improve) decision. This decision is a relief, a burden removed from my daily routine.

This will be a fun, Kaizen adaptation for my KaizenGuitarist website.

The Weekly Guitar Journal has Disadvantages

• The posts are long.
• The posts are hard to optimize for SEO (search engine optimization). I write so that others can read what I have written. Short posts that are SEO optimized are more Kaizen, better.
• The time on these posts are taking me away from practicing guitar. I don’t want to blog about learning guitar. I want to learn guitar.
• Finally, in these early stages, few people are reading my blog.

So if Kaizen is about improving 1% every day, I feel good about discontinuing the weekly, long, boring journal entries. I choose instead to post Learning Nuggets about what I learned that’s important in my Guitar Journey.

Advantages of Blogging about Learning Nuggets or Achievements

1. The blog posts will be better focused on a topic or two.
2. Blogging:SocialMedia ratio. I once read, if you spend an hour writing a blog post, you should spend at least an hour promoting your blog post also. I hope that by shorter blogging, I can spend more time on SEO and social media.
3. Fun. I think this will be more fun than tediously writing a day by day journal. Hope so.
