I have felt guilty about my bass guitars. So busy changing pickups on my IYV ILS300D (humbuckers to P90’s) that there was too little time to play bass guitar. Creating YouTube and blogging takes more time than I should spend on it. I need to practice guitar/bass more.
Grabbed my Huntington Outlaw Bass and Jammed a While
It is pretty, isn’t it. Does it sound good? It’s good enough for me.
Thoughts on Grabbing my Huntington Outlaw PJ Bass
- I grabbed it and it felt like hugging an old friend. Really.
- It’s pretty, isn’t it? Love it’s beautiful fake tortoise shell pickguard on black. Purchased it on Palm Sunday, 2025 for $50. Yikes, it’s a keeper.
- But it’s nicely balanced with its guitar strap (always use one). The head tips up to about my shoulder and I can see my fretting hand easily. Some bass guitars don’t feel right, this does.
- The neck isn’t skinny, isn’t fat. Seems right for a bass guitar. And the neck is fast, no spikey frets. Whenever I grab it I like it. What is it, 9 pounds, maybe 9 1/2. Medium weight.
New Hearing Aids and all Guitar/Bass Sounds are a Bit Different
My new Phillips hearing aids from Costco seem better than my old Rexton hearing aids. All the guitar and bass sounds are different, better I think.
Plugged my Huntington Outlaw into my trusty Fender B-Dec bass from around 2010. It gets the job done. It gives me maybe 50 presets with another 25 learning beats. Normally, I just use about 3 pre-sets.

I still pay for the Justin Guitar app for about $12 a month. Still seems worth it. Lessons and jam songs.
All the guitar songs that I could play are easier with my bass guitars.

Huntington Outlaw PJ Bass is a bit Rare on the Internet
